Shetland watercolour paintings

On Saturday the snow blew so heavily that my face and hands were on fire with cold. The sea roared with ferocious beauty that drowned out the screeching birds. My paint is frozen and full of sand and for a moment I am not a painter but get swept up and contained by the sea itself.

This ongoing body of work is all painted outside my house over looking the natural wonder of St Ninians Isle Tombola beach. They evolve in series as I return to the same scene over and over again in changing lights, weathers and tides.
